On April 26, at a meeting of the Council of Legislators of the Russian Federation, Speaker of the Federation Council Valentina Matvienko drew attention to the fact that the country has not gotten better with the implementation of garbage reform. Despite the fact that in the last year alone, about 280 billion rubles were collected from the population for the transportation and disposal of waste. She said that regional operators on the ground cannot organize the work properly. “But you, the regions, chose these operators and signed agreements with them,” he quotes Valentina Matvienko “Parliamentary newspaper”.

In this regard, she instructed the chairmen of the regional legislative assemblies, together with their local colleagues, to contact the local accounting chambers and initiate an audit. Already at the next meeting of the Council of Legislators, in November-December of this year, the chairmen of regional assemblies will have to present the results.

Against the backdrop of Valentina Matvienko’s statement, it is obvious that Gennady Kotelnikov, together with his colleagues, will have to take the initiative to conduct an audit, involving for this the Accounts Chamber of the Samara Region, headed by Olga Krikova. Taking into account the fact that the tax authorities and the antimonopoly service already have serious developments regarding the Samara re-operator “EkoStroyResurs”, it will not be difficult to carry out such an audit. In addition, earlier, at a meeting of the committee on energy and housing and communal services of the regional parliament, deputy Denis Volkov made a proposal to consider the interim results of the work of the regional operator over the past five years of work.
