The authorities of the Kaliningrad region explained how the “Immortal Regiment” will take place this year

In 2024, residents of the Kaliningrad region will still be able to take part in the “Immortal Regiment” event on May 9. There will be several formats, said the head of the press service of the regional government, Dmitry Lyskov.

“Due to existing threats to public safety, the central headquarters of the Immortal Regiment decided not to hold the Immortal Regiment march in 2024 in person. There are several formats for participating in the promotion. They will take place from May 1 to May 12, 2024. All information is published on the official website of the movement,” commented Lyskov.

We are talking about the following forms of participation:

• Memory Wall. On the eve of Victory Day, schools and universities are invited to place special stands at their facilities. You can make them yourself, using the organizer’s brand book, or use designs already available in the institution.
• “Immortal Regiment” in schools and kindergartens. Events are planned there in rooms decorated with St. George ribbons, red stars, and words of gratitude addressed to veterans. The buildings will also use the “Wall of Memory” format.
• Portrait of the hero on clothes. You are allowed to put portraits with the names of the heroes on your things. Everyone who supported this format can take photos and post them on their social media pages with the hashtag ourImmortal Regiment.
• “Immortal Regiment” on transport. Relatives of participants in the Great Patriotic War and home front workers can place photographs of their veterans in an appropriately designed frame with the “Immortal Regiment of Russia” emblem on their personal, official or public transport. In Kaliningrad, several traditional events on May 9 were canceled.
