Alexander Boldakin represents Ulyanovsk at the All-Russian Forum “Cities of Labor Valor: A Forge of Effective Personnel” – Ulyanovsk today

On April 25, the All-Russian Forum “Cities of Labor Valor. Forge of effective personnel.” Delegates from 63 cities awarded the honorary title of the Russian Federation “City of Labor Valor”, as well as representatives of the authorities, the expert and business community, students and working youth, gathered in the capital. Together they determine the vectors of urban development in response to the challenges of new times.

Ulyanovsk, which was among the first to be awarded the honorary title, is represented at the forum by the head of the city, Alexander Boldakin.

— In his greeting, President Vladimir Putin emphasized the importance of preserving the historical memory of the labor feat of the heroes of the Great Patriotic War. Ulyanovsk has good experience in this. Starting from school, we systematically introduce children to the rich labor history of our city. In the museums of the city-forming enterprises – UAZ, cartridge and engine factories – schoolchildren and students will learn with interest how the victory was forged in the rear, the mayor shared on social networks.

Forum participants raised the problem of staff shortages.

— Finding a solution is necessary for further growth of production and strengthening of the economy. In this sense, cities with developed industry and labor traditions, such as Ulyanovsk, have high potential for overcoming existing problems. I noted a number of successful projects of colleagues that can be applied on Ulyanovsk soil, and also shared our experience,” said Boldakin. — Of course, to prevent staff shortages, we must strengthen our work on career guidance for young people. So that boys and girls, after receiving a specialty, go to industrial enterprises, thus stimulating economic development and ensuring the technological sovereignty of the country. The new national project “Personnel”, which is being developed on behalf of President Vladimir Putin, will be of great help in this work.

Let us remind you that the title “City of Labor Valor” was awarded to our city on July 2, 2020 by Decree of Russian President Vladimir Putin for the significant contribution of residents to achieving Victory in the Great Patriotic War of 1941-1945, ensuring uninterrupted production of military and civilian products at industrial enterprises, shown during This is mass labor heroism and dedication.

During the Great Patriotic War, 15 industrial enterprises were evacuated to Ulyanovsk from the occupied regions of the USSR and the front line. They supplied the front with everything necessary. It was here that every third cartridge for the front and every fourth overcoat were made. The region also received wounded soldiers: during the war years, more than 133 thousand soldiers and officers were treated in 26 hospitals. In addition, Ulyanovsk became the site of evacuation of 25 government agencies, large organizations of union importance, scientific and educational institutions.
