April 27 – 45 years since the death of the writer Boris Lunin

Boris Lunin spent his childhood and school years in Orel. He graduated from the Oryol gymnasium. Since 1918, Boris Lunin has been a political worker in the department of public education. After graduating from the Faculty of Philology at Moscow University (1925), he began working in the magazines Smena and Young Guard. In 1931, Boris Lunin was sent to Yakutia. Traveling and getting to know the region, the way of life and customs of the inhabitants gave the writer a wealth of material for books and articles. The publication “In the Footsteps of the Vilyui Prisoner” is dedicated to the life of the exiled N. Chernyshevsky. The following books: “The Death of Oyun”, “At the Gold”, “Youth under Siege” tell the story of the civil war in Yakutia. Boris Lunin was called the singer of the Yakut region. After his return, Boris Vladimirovich worked at Literaturnaya Gazeta and headed the editorial office of classical literature at the Children’s State Publishing House (Detgiz). In 1968 he was accepted into the Writers’ Union. Boris Vladimirovich prepared a series of biographical documentaries about Russian writers: “Living Pages. Pushkin. Gogol. Lermontov. Belinsky” and “Living Pages”. Nekrasov.” The books have been reprinted several times. The writer died on April 27, 1976.
