The military-patriotic game “I am a future officer” started in Arkhangelsk

--

18 teams from eight municipalities in the region take part in exciting competitions of courage and dexterity.

Young Army members, members of military-patriotic clubs and cadets – guys from local schools, as well as from educational organizations of Severodvinsk, Novodvinsk, Velsk, Nyandoma, Kholmogory and Primorsky districts – arrived today at the regional training center “Patriot” in the capital of Pomorie.

Participants were divided into two age categories – younger (from seven to nine years old) and older (from 10 to 12 years old). Future officers will have to go through several difficult and at the same time interesting tests.

It should be noted that the organization of the event was carried out by the Arkhangelsk regional center “Patriot” and the regional branch of the military-patriotic movement “Yunarmia”. Director of the Patriot Center Natalya Bolshakova, opening the competition, noted that there are few similar ones for children of younger and middle age in the region.

— We are holding the “I am a future officer” game for the seventh time—it is becoming a good tradition. Every year it attracts more and more participants, which means that interest in it is growing. Participation in the game will allow you to identify and develop your best qualities and skills in basic military training, your ingenuity, endurance and teamwork,” said Natalya Bolshakova.

First, young northerners will compete in drill training, then in shooting in a laser shooting range, and will also assemble and disassemble a machine gun for speed. At each stage, the teams’ work is assessed by a competent jury – officers, employees of the regional military commissariat, as well as soldiers of the Russian Guard and the Federal Penitentiary Service.

— I would like to thank both the participants and the organizers of the event. Our country has always been famous for its great commanders, and the officer corps has always been the core of the Russian army. Once upon a time, being as young as you, I looked with pride at the uniform of officers and veterans of the Great Patriotic War, and this largely predetermined my path in life. I hope some of you will choose this path and continue the glorious traditions of our officer corps,” Fyodor Melnikov, head of the department of conscription and training of citizens of the military commissariat of the Arkhangelsk region, addressed the guys.

The guys were in quite a fighting mood – the members of the Youth Army Club from Velsk especially stood out – they carefully checked the elements of each other’s uniform, and then practiced the elements of the first stage of the competition – drill training.

Sergei Sukhanovsky

“I’ve been a member of Yunarmia for four years now, since second grade. Although it’s fun here, we want to win and take first place in all competitions. Most of all, I want to do forced marches and drills so that I can be the first in them,” Sergei Sukhanovsky, a fifth-grader from Ust-Velsk School No. 23, shared his impressions.

In addition to marching, drill training, assembling weapons and shooting in a laser shooting range, the guys will also have other competitions. The participants know them all inside out and prepare thoroughly for each one.

Arseny Chuprakov

— I have been a member of the Yunarmiya and the school military-patriotic club “Vysota” for two years now. We are in a good, fighting mood today. Today we will have military training, drill, disassembling a machine gun, putting on a gas mask, applying a tourniquet for arterial bleeding and applying special means for a bruise on the back of the head. I’m interested in all the parts, and most of all I’ll try to prove myself in combat and assembling and disassembling a machine gun,” said Arseny Chuprakov, a fifth-grader from Arkhangelsk school No. 26.
