The cyberthief should be in prison, Voronezh police officers and representatives of the Public Council under the city Department of the Ministry of Internal Affairs are convinced. Therefore, they constantly conduct educational campaigns on how not to fall for the tricks of scammers and protect your finances. Unfortunately, this is still extremely relevant. Since the beginning of the year alone, residents of the region have voluntarily transferred a quarter of a billion rubles to so-called “safe accounts.” This kind of money would be enough to build a new school or kindergarten. And what’s surprising is that teachers and doctors are increasingly appearing on the list of victims. People seem to be educated and psychologically stable. But here, as they say, the devil has taken over – the victims come into contact with imaginary law enforcement officers and false bankers, taking out millions in loans. And then they write a statement to the police. But, as a rule, the money is already gone, and, most often, outside of Russia. To ensure that there were fewer such cases, social activists held another preventive meeting with teachers of the Novousmansky Educational Center. They told you how to protect your personal data from Internet and mobile scammers. Thus, the main advice against hacking on the World Wide Web is to install complex passwords on gadgets and an additional level of protection, that is, two-factor authentication. Simply put, even if someone tries to log into your account, a message with a code will be sent to your mobile phone. Without these 4 digits, scammers will not be able to obtain user data, even if they know the account password. It’s even easier with telephone thieves – just hang up the call and not continue the conversation. Compliance with these simple rules will help save the savings of Voronezh residents from clever cyber-attackers, representatives of the police community are sure.

Vladislav Kartashov – representative of the Public Council under the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia in Voronezh, director of the “School of Family Safety”:

– Do not communicate as soon as you see that they have called you and the prosecutor’s office, the FSB, are starting to introduce themselves there and ask for a code that should come to the phone or something else, just do not communicate, reset and that’s it. These include phone calls, messenger messages and SMS. Any false links that come in are sent via SMS so that people don’t click on them.
