Last year in Buryatia the number of retail trade organizations amounted to 169 units. This number included enterprises with two or more retail outlets using one designation, Buryatstat reported.
Moreover, among these enterprises, 71% of legal entities are registered outside the republic. The total turnover of retail chains in 2023 amounted to almost 45 billion rubles, which is 10.3% more than in 2022.
The region’s retail chains accounted for almost 17% of the total retail trade turnover. Of these, the share of sales of food, beverages and tobacco products amounted to more than 55%, and non-food products – 44.7%.
Last year, the share of retail chains was 17.5%, while in 2022 it was lower – 15.5%. In the turnover of non-food products – 15.7% and 16.6%, respectively.
According to analysts, sales of food, beverages and tobacco products were carried out at a faster pace (114.1% by 2022) compared to non-food products (105.8% by 2022).
