In the Tula region, the case of replacing newborns in a maternity hospital will be reconsidered

Tula residents who lost the case of substitution in a maternity hospital 50 years ago have filed an appeal. Let us remind you that the high-profile trial took place in the Suvorovsky District Court in the winter and spring of this year. The fact is that 54 years ago, two newborn girls were mixed up in the Belev maternity hospital. As a result, one of them, Svetlana Kosenkova, worried all her life because she didn’t look like her parents. The woman decided to take a DNA test and found out that she had no blood connection with her relatives. She turned to television and found her biological relatives.

Afterwards, five people associated with the substitution immediately filed a lawsuit against the Ministry of Finance and the Ministry of Health. The amount of the claim was 21 million rubles. The Suvorov Interdistrict Court rejected the claims.

“Having disagreed with the court’s decision, the plaintiffs’ representative filed an appeal against it. He asks the decision of the Suvorov Interdistrict Court of the Tula Region of March 19 to be canceled and to satisfy the claims in full,” the department of the Judicial Department of the Tula Region said on Friday.

The appeal was accepted for consideration.
