The investor began the reconstruction of the Firemen’s House on Litovsky Val in Kaliningrad. Information about this was published in the telegram channel of the Regional Development Corporation.

“The investor in the reconstruction of the Firemen’s House developed a concept for the modern use of the building and its courtyard, developed a project and began reconstruction work,” the organization reported.

They plan to open a hotel and office center in the building. Its total area will be six thousand square meters. The Segment-Region company received permission for reconstruction. The document is valid until February 2026.

Previously, the Firemen’s House project received a positive expert opinion. The work will be carried out in two stages: a preparatory stage, during which the emergency structure in the yard will be demolished, and the main stage – to reconstruct and adapt the pre-war building to modern use. The project involves the complete dismantling and replacement of the roof and internal floors, strengthening of external walls and repair of the facade, installation of elevators and utility networks.

The Firemen’s House has been managed by the Regional Development Corporation since 2018. The reconstruction of the facility is being carried out by the architectural studio Archelp and the company Segment.

In the summer of 2021, the city planning council approved the project. The complex of historical buildings is planned to house apartments, an office center, shops and cafes. The historical part of the complex at 57-59b Litovsky Val will be preserved, but they want to erect a new five-story building on the site of the Soviet extension in the courtyard.

The firemen’s house was built in Königsberg in the 18th century as municipal housing for employees. The building was part of an ensemble of defensive structures. In the 2000s, the dormitory of the College of Service and Tourism was located there. Some of the premises were rented out.
