On Friday, April 26, matches of the second round of the UEFA development tournament took place in Volgograd. In the first game of the day, the Ghanaian team beat the Serbian team with a score of 5:1. The Russian youth team met with their peers from Kazakhstan and won a minimal victory – 1:0.

In the first match of the day, by half-time the Ghanaian team was leading with a score of 3:0. Abdulai Nortey, Benjamin Hanson and David Koranteng scored goals against Serbia. In the second half, Ebenezer Anine brought the African team’s lead to four goals. The Serbs responded with a goal from Pavle Stulic. And in injury time, Benjamin Tsevanyo set the final score of the match – 5:1 in favor of the Ghana team.

In the second match of the day, the Russian U-16 youth team beat Kazakhstan with a score of 1:0. The only goal in the middle of the first half, after a solo run and cross from Daniil Tushich, was scored by Zakhar Chushkin. This victory allowed the Russian team to lead the tournament table.

The final round matches will take place on April 28. At 11:00 the national teams of Kazakhstan and Ghana will meet at the VGAFK stadium. The Russian national team will play its match at 16:30 at the Zenit stadium. The opponent is the Serbian team.

For the second time, Russia is hosting the UEFA Development Tournament – international football competitions among youth teams, which are held annually in different countries. The matches will take place on April 23–29 in Volgograd at the Zenit and VGAFK stadiums. The opponents are the national teams of Serbia, Ghana and Kazakhstan.
