The Voronezh region was among the leaders in the number of DDoS attacks in the country. The MTS RED company spoke about a one and a half times increase in the number of cybercrimes this year compared to the previous year.
In the first quarter of 2024 alone, the company was able to repel more than 6,200 DDoS attacks on clients’ web resources. The websites of both business structures and government agencies were attacked.
Thus, in the 1st quarter of 2024 in Voronezh, the most frequent victims of DDoS attacks were IT companies and enterprises in the telecommunications sector, accounting for 39.5% of all attacks. Second place in this matter was taken by the public sector, which received 29.9% of attacks. The third place was taken by industrial enterprises, which suffered 9.3% of attacks. And financial institutions were left with only 1.7% of such attacks.
According to the company, last March the largest number of DDoS attacks was recorded – 43% of incidents. The longest attack was also recorded last month. It lasted more than 21 hours. Well, the most powerful and intense attack reached 207 Gigabits per second.
