On April 27, yellow rain with sand dust from the Sahara Desert will come to the Southern Urals. Colored precipitation has already fallen in the south of the country, and on April 25 it also found central Russia. This “Evening” was reported by the press service of the Ministry of Ecology of the Chelyabinsk region.

On the night of April 27, the air temperature will drop to +4 degrees. During the day, the thermometer will show +23 degrees. In the north of the region, light rain and thunderstorms are expected. Wind gusts can reach 13 meters per second.

— An air mass with a lower concentration of desert dust will most likely come to the territory of the Urals. Having covered such a distance, the dust will gradually dissipate, and, accordingly, the sand content in precipitation in certain areas of our region should be small,” said Valery Kochegorov, head of the Chelyabinsk Center for Hydrometeorology and Environmental Monitoring.

According to weather forecasters, colored precipitation has already fallen in the region. In 1960, green rain was recorded in Chelyabinsk. The reason for its color was the high concentration of pine pollen in the air from the urban forest.

And recently, the streets of Chelyabinsk, including the cars of citizens, were covered with yellow-green dust. The Ministry of Ecology explained this by the abnormal heat and the flowering of birch trees.
