We discussed the areas of our mutually beneficial cooperation.
Russian President Vladimir Putin noted that interaction between our state and the Republic of Tajikistan is developing in all directions and special attention must be paid to the economy.
The commodity structure of exports of the Angara region to Tajikistan includes timber, wood products, fuel and energy products, mineral water, aluminum, batteries, cosmetics, detergents and cleaning products. In turn, import supplies from the republic to the region in 2023 accounted for a small share in the structure of the region’s foreign trade turnover.
We are ready to assist in the growth of Tajikistan’s share in the region’s foreign trade turnover. We discussed the possibility of concluding an interregional agreement between the Angara region and the Khatlon region of the Republic of Tajikistan, agreed that we would create a working group and consider all areas in which we can cooperate.
It is planned that in the fall of 2024, three small and medium-sized enterprises from the Irkutsk region will take part in a business event in Dushanbe.
We also support the activities of the Tajik National Cultural Society “Compatriot”. This organization actively participates in events dedicated to Russian public holidays, in charity events in support of a special military operation, residents of the city of Kirovsk – a sponsored territory of the Irkutsk region.
