The Frolovsky City Court of the Volgograd Region sentenced a 49-year-old resident of Moscow, due to whose fault in the summer of 2021, a family – a spouse and a six-month-old child – died in an accident, and a 3-year-old girl was seriously injured.
Let us remind you that a terrible tragedy occurred on the morning of June 20, 2021. A Muscovite driving a BMW X6 was driving along the P-22 “Caspian” highway in the direction of Volgograd. The woman decided to overtake the following cars in the same direction, drove into the oncoming lane behind the Skoda Yeti and began to overtake three trucks.

At that time, a Skoda Octavia and a Ford Focus were moving towards her in their lane. The Ford driver, seeing a car rushing towards him at great speed, tried to avoid the collision and drove his right wheel onto the side of the road. As a result, an uncontrolled skid occurred; the Ford Focus drove into oncoming traffic, where it collided with a Daf FT XF 105.460 truck.
The blow was so strong that it left no chance of survival for the driver, his wife and infant child. In that accident, Marina Aleksandrova, a pediatrician at children’s clinic No. 2 in Volzhsky, died along with her husband and son. Doctors managed to save only the couple’s 3-year-old daughter.

The worst thing is that the culprit of the accident calmly continued on her way after the incident. At the stationary traffic accident checkpoint, police officers stopped her, saying that because of the dangerous maneuver she made, people were killed and injured. However, the Muscovite did not return to the scene of the accident and drove on.

At the trial, the woman did not admit her guilt, blaming it on the deceased driver, whom she accused of exceeding the speed limit. In her opinion, he should have slowed down and did not brake urgently.
However, the defendant’s guilt was confirmed by evidence examined during the judicial investigation.

The court found the woman guilty of committing this crime and imposed a sentence of imprisonment for a term of 9 years, to be served in a settlement colony, with deprivation of the right to engage in driving activities for a period of 3 years.

A person sentenced to a penal colony will be sent to a penal colony at the expense of the state on her own.

In addition, the court partially satisfied the civil claims of the victims, collecting from the convicted a record amount of compensation for moral damage in favor of the relatives of the victims – a total of 13 million rubles.

The court’s decision did not enter into legal force.
