April 27. Investigators from the Department of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia for the North-Evensky District completed a criminal investigation into accusing a 59-year-old local resident of committing a crime under paragraph “c” of Part 2 of Art. 158 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation (theft, causing significant damage), the press service of the Russian Ministry of Internal Affairs for the Magadan Region reported to MagadanMedia.

According to investigators, in March of this year, a previously convicted citizen, while seven kilometers from the village of Verkhniy Paren, shot five deer belonging to an agricultural enterprise and stole their carcasses.

During the investigation, a weapon of which he is the owner was confiscated from the citizen.

The involvement of the accused in committing illegal actions was established during operational activities by criminal investigation officers.

A preventive measure was chosen against the person involved in the criminal case in the form of a written undertaking not to leave the place and proper behavior. He fully compensated for the damage and repented of his actions.

The indictment was approved by the prosecutor’s office. The criminal case has been sent to court.

The maximum sanction for this article is imprisonment for up to five years.
