Volgograd woman was convicted of fraud amounting to more than 8.5 million rubles

The Krasnoarmeisky District Court of Volgograd sent a 37-year-old local resident to the colony, who had been deceiving people for two years.

The swindler managed to fool 20 people using various techniques. Moreover, all these people were her acquaintances.

The press service of the Volgograd Regional Prosecutor’s Office told Gorodskiye Vesti that the investigation established that the lady was involved in fraud from November 2017 to September 2019. Under various pretexts, she persuaded her friends to take out loans and give the money to her. For example, under the pretext of investing in the development of her trading enterprise, improving credit histories, etc. She convinced the victims that she would return all amounts with interest. In fact, after she took the money, she immediately spent it on her own needs.

The material damage to the victims amounted to more than 8.5 million rubles.

The court sentenced the fraudster to 7 years and 2 months in a general regime colony.

The verdict has not yet entered into legal force and can be appealed within the time limits established by law.
