Russians are actively preparing to celebrate the May holidays and are increasingly visiting stores to buy camping equipment.
In Russia, demand for goods in the “Tourist equipment” category increased by 12%. Each region has its own preferences – it all depends on the weather and tourism features.
Most often in the spring, outdoor enthusiasts purchased goods for starting a fire and cooking outdoors – dry fuel, lighter fluid and fuel briquettes. Portable radios and walkie-talkies were also popular, Gazeta.ru reported. In Novosibirsk, thermal mugs became the most popular product. The fashion for this type of tableware was also supported by the residents of Perm. Muscovites more often bought goods for starting a fire, residents of Volgograd, Rotsov-on-Don and Yekaterinburg – folding tables and chairs. Mini-gas stoves and cold storage batteries were in good demand in Krasnodar, St. Petersburg and Nizhny Novgorod. Retail outlets also noted good demand for cutlery, knives and multitools – their sales increased in all regions. Thus, in Novosibirsk, “Spike” knives have almost disappeared from specialized stores. Buying a tourist hunting knife turned out to be difficult both on the online ad service and on marketplaces.
