The results of the tour of the Russian folk choir named after Popov were summed up in Ryazan

On April 26, a press conference was held at the Ryazan Regional Philharmonic on the results of the tour of the Ryazan State Academic Russian Folk Choir named after Evgeniy Popov. The participants of the event were acting. Minister of Culture of the region Elena Vasilyeva, director of the Philharmonic Elena Shapovskaya, artistic director of the choir Svetlana Sukhova, director of the choir Sergei Selyavin, chief conductor of the orchestra Alexander Oreshkin.

Opening the briefing, Elena Shapovskaya noted that the April tour of the Russian folk choir became the main event of philharmonic activities this season. The artists performed in the cities of the Middle and Southern Urals – Yekaterinburg, Magnitogorsk, Ufa, Orenburg, as well as Tobolsk and Tyumen. The concert program under the motto “Song of Ryazan, sound!” included works from the group’s “golden fund” – folklore of the Ryazan land, popular Russian folk songs, songs to the music of natives of the Ryazan region – Evgeny Popov, Alexander Novikov, Alexander Averkin, Alexander Ermakov. Songs by famous Russian composers based on poems by Sergei Yesenin were also performed.

Elena Vasilyeva emphasized that the tour took place within the framework of the “We are Russia!” program, which is being implemented by Rosconcert in accordance with the all-Russian tour and concert plan of the Ministry of Culture of the Russian Federation. The government of the Ryazan region also provided moral and material support to the tour participants.

“All our concerts were sold out,” Svetlana Sukhova told reporters with pleasure. “Although we had already been on tour in these cities before, they were waiting for us, they missed us, they sang with us. It’s nice that our folk singing culture is in great demand. We were greeted with deep cordiality by colleagues of the Ural State Academic Russian Folk Choir in Yekaterinburg and the Orenburg State Academic Folk Choir.”

Sergei Selyavin shared his impressions of the tour: “I liked that the organizers worked flawlessly, so the artists did not have to be distracted by everyday problems, but devoted themselves entirely to the audience.”

Alexander Oreshkin, a direct participant in the performance as a conductor, who was in close contact with the public, received great pleasure from the enthusiastic responses of the audience.

In conclusion, Elena Shapovskaya announced a concert of the Ryazan Russian Folk Choir named after Evgeni Popov with the program “Songs of Spring”, which will be held at the Ryazan Philharmonic on May 7.
