Ukraine has returned the bodies of 140 dead soldiers, the coordination headquarters for the treatment of prisoners of war reported on its Facebook page (part of the Meta corporation, recognized as extremist in Russia and banned).
We are talking about the bodies of 112 servicemen from Donetsk, 20 from Lugansk, five from Sumy, two from Zaporozhye and one from Kherson. They are promised to be handed over to families for burial after identification. The headquarters also thanked representatives of the International Committee of the Red Cross for facilitating the exchange.
State Duma deputy Shamsail Saraliev told RBC that Russia received the bodies of 36 servicemen.
The body swap was last reported on April 12. According to Saraliev, then Russia returned 23 dead soldiers, Ukraine received 99 bodies. On March 29, the parties exchanged according to the formula “29-121”.
