On Trekhsvyatskaya Street in Tver, renovations continue under the “Formation of a Comfortable Urban Environment” program. The progress of work on the improvement of the city center was inspected by members of the Tver Public Chamber and representatives of the city administration.
This is not the first time that members of the public chamber go out to check the main pedestrian street of the city. This time, the inspection participants focused on the repair of the area from Radishchev Boulevard to Simeonovskaya Street.
We want our city to be comfortable, safe, and beautiful. We love our city and would like everything to be done here to the highest quality. Moreover, there was a universal vote of the townspeople for this territory. This means that our efforts should not be in vain, not to nowhere, not to emptiness,” said Olga Kirichenko, chairman of the commission of the Public Chamber of the Tver Region for ensuring a comfortable urban environment and the safety of the population’s life system.
As the general contractor said, drainage trays and racks of external lighting poles have now been installed at the improvement site, the laying of cable lines, laying and leveling of the crushed stone base are being completed, and preparatory work for replacing the wells is underway. It is planned to begin laying granite tiles in the near future.
The guys tried to lay tiles on the base to see how it would behave on this base, it worked well. Now we are waiting for laboratory tests, that is, all the compaction, material, everything has been sent to the laboratory. In order to check that all this complies with the guests and so that it does not turn out that after the winter it will settle,” explained Andrey Vasiliev, the general contractor.
Of course, the inspection participants were concerned about the timing of the completion of the work. The contractor reported that, subject to good weather conditions, all major work will be completed by July 1. Another topic that interested social activists was the elimination of deficiencies in the renovated area from Novotorzhskaya Street to Radishchev Boulevard. As representatives of the Tver administration assured, the contractor has already begun to eliminate the deficiencies within the framework of the warranty obligations.
The sand was washed out for one reason only; it was laid in the season when the sand was already wet. It is clear that it did not fill the gaps. Which are 8 mm deep. Over the winter it went down and left empty spaces. This also applies to our warranty obligations and the contractor will also fix it. Why did he already bring sand to the first stage? In any case, all the materials that are used here are all certified, all the necessary conclusions are available,” commented Dmitry Arestov, head of the department of housing and communal services, housing policy and construction of the Tver administration.
The inspection participants noted noticeable improvements in the organization of work associated with the change of contractor. Social activists also made proposals to ensure the safety of citizens. In particular, installation of construction site fencing and timely removal of metal structures, carrying out work taking into account the requirements for creating an accessible environment for people with limited mobility. The next public control event will take place at the end of June.
