In the Novosibirsk region, game wardens continue to be supplied with quadcopters to combat illegal hunting and track down poachers. For these purposes, the region’s Ministry of Natural Resources purchased 10 new drones, with as many more on the way.

“We currently have five operational groups of inspectors equipped with these tools, which work in all districts of the region. In the spring, more than 50 violations of the mandatory requirements established by the Hunting Rules have already been identified and recorded using UAVs“- said Semyon Doppler, head of the department for the protection of wildlife and specially protected natural areas of the Ministry of Natural Resources of the Novosibirsk Region, on April 27.
According to the ministry’s press service, quadcopters will be used during the hunting season for ungulates, in the autumn. For this purpose, it is planned to purchase a dozen more UAVs and train inspectors carrying out hunting supervision to work with them. Drones not only significantly reduce the time it takes to survey a territory, but also save car fuel, making the work of inspectors more environmentally friendly.

“We raise the UAV to such an acceptable height that it was practically invisible and audible from the ground, but the quality of the shooting made it possible not only to establish the presence of citizens and the presence of vehicles in the hunting grounds, but also to consider whether there were weapons there and even determine the license plate number of the car“- said the state inspector of the wildlife protection department Dmitry Ginko.
Having done this, specialists deliberately go to the site to check the legality of the hunt.
