Ralph Fiennes and Aaron Taylor-Johnson will play in 28 years later

There has been a major addition to the cast of the horror film 28 Years Later. He was joined by Ralph Fiennes, Aaron Taylor-Johnson and Jodie Comer. The characters they will play have not yet been named.

Danny Boyle returned to direct after directing the original 28 Days Later in 2002, which centered on the titular character (Cillian Murphy) waking up in hospital to find the United Kingdom engulfed in a zombie outbreak. The film grossed more than $82 million worldwide.

Alex Garland also returned to write the script for the third installment, which is set to be produced by Sony. The original feature helped revive the zombie genre, and it had a sequel in 2007’s 28 Weeks Later, on which Boyle and Garland only nominally served as executive producers.

As for Aaron Taylor-Johnson, this work continues his close partnership with Sony after starring in the crime thriller Faster Than a Bullet, as well as the upcoming Marvel comics adaptation Kraven the Hunter. Oscar-nominated director Ralph Fiennes is currently wrapping up the international run of Macbeth, which has played to sold-out shows in four cities around the world.
