In April 2024, the trailer for Todd Phillips’ film Joker: Madness for Two was released. This is a continuation of the film “Joker”, released in 2019. The main role in the sequel, as in the first part, was played by Joaquin Phoenix. This time he was accompanied by the well-known Lady Gaga, who successfully combines her acting and singing careers. The American superstar played Harleen Quinzel/Harley Quinn, the Joker’s fatal passion.

Filming and plot

The sequel cost three times more than the first film. As you know, now it will be a musical, in which 15 cover versions of popular songs will be performed. As the authors of Screen Rant suggest, all these compositions will sound in the Joker’s inflamed brain. The same staircase on which the hero Phoenix danced will appear in the film. This time he will perform a dance together in his beloved.

The plot itself is kept secret – only general information is available. At the end of the first part, the Joker will end up in the hospital. It is in the hospital that the main actions of the film will unfold. Here the fateful meeting of the main characters will take place, who will challenge the whole world. By the way, the new Harley Quinn is not a psychiatrist, as in the canonical plot; here she is a simple girl from a poor area of Gotham.

Actors

The Joker’s friend was played by the outrageous singer Lady Gaga. She has roles in such famous films as “Sin City 2”, “American Horror Story”, “A Star is Born” and “The House of Gucci”.

The pride of Ireland, Brendan Gleeson (Alastor Moody from Harry Potter), will appear in the film. Who exactly the mastodon of world cinema will play is unknown. Zazie Beetz also returned to play the Joker/Arthur’s neighbor.
