The film “Evil Does Not Exist” was released in Russian cinemas. The director of the film is Japanese Ryusuke Hamaguchi. The film received six awards at the Asian Film Awards. The film also received two prizes at the Venice Film Festival – from the jury and the press.
The plot centers on a conflict between developers and local residents. In a small town located a few hours’ drive from Tokyo, they are planning to build a campsite with amenities. Developers hope to get
land in an ecological oasis, and local residents are worried that the water will spoil and destroy the entire ecosystem.
The film will appeal to fans of long takes and relaxed plots. “Evil Does Not Exist” can be seen in Russian cinemas from April 25.
Earlier it became known that Russian cinemas abandoned pirated films after an ultimatum from distributors.
