John Lennon’s guitar from the movie Help! plan to sell for $2.4 million

--

On April 23, it became known that the guitar of musician John Lennon from the film “Help!”, filmed in 1965, will be auctioned in the United States at the end of May, Zakon.kz reports.

As Rolling Stone magazine writes, we are talking about a 12-string Framus acoustic guitar discovered in the attic. On it while working on the albums Help! and Rubber Soul, in addition to Lennon, was played by Beatles member George Harrison.

It is noted that the auction, called Music Icons, will take place at the auction house Julien’s Auctions on May 29 and 30; experts have previously estimated the lot at 600-800 thousand dollars. Experts say that the final price will exceed $2.4 million.

“Finding this wonderful instrument is like finding a lost work by Rembrandt or Picasso, and the guitar still looks and plays great after being in the attic for over 50 years,” said Julien’s Auctions co-founder and chief executive Darren Julian.

Earlier in London, a painting that belonged to Napoleon Bonaparte was put up for auction for 25 million euros.
