As a result, when three finalists stood on stage – Georgy Russkikh, Alexey Sulima and Bogdan Shuvalov. Many predicted an unconditional victory for Gagarina’s favorite, but if you look at the percentage, Shuvalov won with a minimal margin – 35% of the votes were given for him, and 33% for the Russians, Sulima took 31%.
Bogdan himself burst into tears of happiness in the finale and started dancing wildly with Polina Gagarina, who was named the best mentor of season 12.
The general public learned the name of Bogdan Shuvalov on January 28, when the “blind auditions” were shown in the show “The Voice”. The guy with bottomless eyes and plastic surgery (on the Internet they believe that Bogdan straightened his cheekbones and nose) showed incredible mastery of his voice – his range exceeds four octaves, which gives him the opportunity to sing both in a low timbre and hit high notes.
Literally from the first notes, all the mentors turned to him (and this season Zivert was new, unlike Anton Belyaev, Vladimir Presnyakov and Polina Gagarina), and began vying with each other to praise the artist.
We must pay tribute to Shuvalov – he behaved modestly, tried not to get involved in the battle of his elders, but watched in surprise as Polina Gagarina rushed around the studio, screaming, jumping on a chair and shouting: “Come to me.” Polina won over Bogdan by promising him a place in the finals.
“I might have thought that I would go to the final with Bogdan Shuvalov. Because I promised him this. My phrase at the “blind auditions” turned out to be fateful; this competition gave him a lot and helped him open up. I really want fate to work out in such a way that there are as few difficulties as possible and as many victories as possible. “Go ahead, Bogdan,” Gagarina said a few months later.
It was after Gagarina “pressed” the young handsome man that he could not refuse and went to her. And as the work progressed, it became clear that if Shuvalov did not win, he would definitely enter the final.
Polina herself called him a “pig in a poke” and hinted at a rather difficult character with which she had to work throughout the season. But it was worth it.
— Bogdan is a pig in a poke. Every time I am ready that everything will be different at the performance. But it seemed to me that he needed my support. We will continue to discover new facets of his phenomenal voice, but also not forget about his heart and soul,” Gagarina said.
What do we know about Bogdan Shuvalov? The guy was born on April 25, 1997 in St. Petersburg. Since childhood, he showed creative abilities and early began to sing and organize mini-concerts at home, so his parents sent him to study music. When he came to school, the vocal teacher noted the wide range of the future star and advised him to continue his studies separately, and also gave him the contacts of a professional teacher.
As the singer himself says, as a teenager he had a high tenor, so he was put forward in the choir. Therefore, the artist is no stranger to being in the center of public attention since childhood, as well as to constant tours – he has traveled all over Russia with performances.
Over time, Bogdan began to experience problems, as he received ridicule from his friends – they laughed at the boy because they saw him among the girls (the majority of the fair half of humanity were in the choir). The guy began to ask to join the boys’ choir, but a teenage voice mutation occurred. And after this, Shuvalov began to take low and middle notes, which expanded his vocal range.
“I was really looking forward to the moment when my voice broke.” And it broke, became the usual low one, but all the highs were preserved, which I am incredibly happy about. And I developed a unique voice, and the range remained, this is the reward,” the vocalist admitted.
After school, Bogdan went to the pop and jazz department. He did not forget about academic vocals, while at the same time trying his hand at folk songs. When his voice finally took shape, a countertenor emerged, but then Shuvalov had already made up his mind and began to place more emphasis on pop compositions.
Bogdan decided in his youth what he would do, so for a long time he honed his skills not only in educational institutions, but also on stage. He followed the example of such stars as Christina Aguilera, Celine Dion, Joe Cocker, Michael Jackson.
In the 2010s, there was a boom in vocal competitions, which played a special role in the life of the young guy. But while things didn’t work out with Russia, in 2016 he went to the Ukrainian version of the popular project The X Factor, where he performed the hit I’m Not The Only One by Sam Smith. And although the young man did not win, the audience appreciated his vocals and appearance. This is how the first fans appeared.
Then he became a participant in the “One to One” transformation show, where he dressed up like the singer Cher, and after that he could be seen as a contestant in the “New Star” and “Come on, All Together!” competitions.
— All shows are different, you get your own experience from each. When I went to the X Factor, it was Ukraine, everything was foreign, unfamiliar and incomprehensible, sometimes even an incomprehensible language. I didn’t know anyone or anything there. I remember I arrived and immediately had to get off the train to filming. I had to wash my hair in the sink in the toilet of the KFC restaurant and dry it under the hand dryer… On the show “One to One” I did Cher – these are heels, that is, there is always something in the projects that I haven’t had before,” the star confesses.
The public appreciated his appearance in the popular project of the TNT channel “Musical Intuition”, where he performed the hit singer Zivert Beverly Hills.
In 2023, footage of Prokhor Chaliapin appeared on his social networks. A graduate of the “Star Factory” helped the aspiring artist and sang with him at the State Kremlin Palace.
Gradually, Shuvalov gained his audience, collected a decent number of subscribers on social networks and began performing in various clubs in Russia. The basis of his concerts are not only his own tracks, but also covers of famous hits. In winter, he performed not only in his native St. Petersburg, but also in Vladikavkaz.
In 2024, the composition “Stay with me for another minute” was released, recorded in a duet with the St. Petersburg singer Athena. The track reached the top of the popular charts.

And he is thin and pumped up,” says Marina Morskaya.
Victory in the 12th season of the show “The Voice” was not easy for Shuvalov. He himself admitted that he gave his best. For 1st place he gets a prize – a recording in the studio, as well as 1 million rubles from the partner bank. By the way, the other two finalists will receive 100 thousand rubles each.
The show “The Voice” is a project that helps reveal a star, but then it’s his work and constant movement forward. Because in reality, after the final, none of the winners could become truly famous and popular throughout the country.
