The Russian military shot down eight Ukrainian drones overnight. The Russian Ministry of Defense reported this on April 24. According to the department, Kyiv’s attempts to carry out a number of terrorist attacks using aircraft-type UAVs against targets in Russia were thwarted.
Air defense systems on duty destroyed three drones over the Kursk region, two over the Belgorod region, two over the Voronezh region and one more over the Smolensk region.
No consequences are reported. Governor of the Smolensk region Vasily Anokhin clarified that “there were no casualties after the attack of unmanned aerial vehicles on civilian fuel and energy facilities” in the region.
In the Voronezh region, two private houses were damaged overnight as a result of UAV attacks, according to the governor. There were no casualties.
Governor of the Lipetsk region Igor Artamonov said that Kyiv attempted to strike the infrastructure in the industrial zone of Lipetsk at night, a drone fell there, but there were no casualties. “The object was isolated, there was no threat of attack on a residential area. It was decided not to turn on the warning systems in the city and to evacuate only in the area where the UAV fell,” added the head of the region.
