Deputies plan to increase the term of imprisonment from 30 to 35 years for committing acts of sabotage. Deputy of the State Duma of the Russian Federation Vasily Piskarev spoke about this.
“It is proposed to increase the liability for sabotage crimes to 35 years in prison,” – wrote Piskarev in his telegram channel. He added that it is also proposed to tighten penalties for the intentional destruction or damage of property motivated by political, ideological, racial, national or religious hatred or enmity to five years in prison.
These changes are aimed at improving security in the context of a special operation and increasing hostilities. The proposed changes were supported by the government and will be introduced in the near future, Piskarev concluded.
