Voyah Free EVR Sport officially presented for Russia

--

The updated Voyah Free EVR Sport has officially arrived in Russia. It is positioned as a special version, but in China it entered the market as a restyling. The model premiered as part of the 46th Moscow International Film Festival. Voyah Free EVR Sport will begin accepting orders soon.

Voyah is a premium brand of new energy vehicles, part of the state-owned Dongfeng Corporation. It was founded in 2018 and entered foreign markets four years later. In early April, Voyah reported the production of the brand’s 100,000th vehicle.

Voyah lineup from left to right: Dream, Passion and Free

Currently, the Voyah model line is represented by three models: the Free crossover, the Dream minivan and the Passion sedan. Among them, Voyah Free is a bestseller. Last August, it received a scheduled update for China. Among the changes were the exterior and interior of the model, as well as the power plant. Now this option has officially reached the Russian market under the name Voyah Free EVR Sport.

Key changes to Voyah Free EVR Sport

Voyah Free EVR Sport can be recognized from the outside due to its more aggressive design. In its front part there is a large radiator grille and a sporty front bumper with imitation air intakes. An enlarged spoiler was placed at the rear and the bumper was redesigned. The final change is black R20 wheels with a unique design.

The Voyah Free EVR Sport interior has received a number of changes

The interior of the special version also received a number of noticeable changes. The center console has retained its main feature in the form of three screens under one glass. But the central tunnel is almost unrecognizable. The gearbox selector was removed from it, moving it behind the steering wheel. The freed up space was used for two wireless smartphone chargers.

Powerplant Voyah Free EVR Sport

Voyah Free EVR Sport is a serial hybrid. Under its hood, a 1.5-liter internal combustion engine is installed as a generator with a capacity of 122 hp. It can supply energy to electric motors and charge a battery with a capacity of 39.2 kWh. Without turning on the gasoline engine, it can travel 160 km on the WLTC cycle.

The Voyah Free EVR Sport is powered by two electric motors producing 490 hp. Despite the Sport prefix in the name, it turned out to be noticeably “weaker” than the standard Voyah Free EVR, officially available on the Russian market. Let us remember that its engines generate 693 hp. Voyah Free EVR Sport accelerates to 100 km/h in 4.8 seconds. Its total range reaches 1000 km on the WLTP cycle.

The Voyah press service reported that accepting orders for Free EVR Sport will begin in the near future. Like other Voyah models officially imported into Russia, this version will be covered by a warranty of 5 years or 100 thousand km.
