Marketing is dead. This is true, I can prove it. There are no more “channels” – they don’t work. There used to be marketing, communications and PR. Marketing was essentially retail theory – you tried to get your game box in the right place on the store shelf, and you had partnerships with retail stores. These channels are a thing of the past. Now you have the Internet.
Nobody looks at advertising anymore. All the channels we used to market through are no longer viable. Their importance has decreased because players just want to be talked to. They don’t want to be fooled – they just want to know what you’re doing, why you’re doing it, and for whom.
