Athlete from Sortavala Artem Kozlovsky became world champion

The open wrestling championship “grappling” was held in Krasnogorsk.

Sortavala resident Artem Kozlovsky became the world champion in gi grappling wrestling, the official public page of the Sortavala region of Karelia reported.

As the source said, on November 18 and 19 in Krasnogorsk near Moscow, the World Open Grappling Championship was held according to the World Grappling Federation.

More than 800 athletes from Algeria, India, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Norway, Serbia, Turkey, Uzbekistan, as well as from 35 regions of Russia took part in the tournament.

Artem Kozlovsky, a student of the Sortavala martial arts sports club “Lion’s Pride”, who trains with Igor Akimov, became the winner of the competition in the group of athletes under 18 years old and up to 61 kg.
