Potekhin has been defending the colors of HC Sokol (Krasnoyarsk) since last season. The 31-year-old hockey player was one of the team leaders this season – 22 (10+12) points in 26 matches. However, on Saturday, November 18, the Krasnoyarsk club suddenly announced the termination of the contract with Magnitogorsk. This shocked many Sokol fans.

And the other day information appeared that Potekhin left Krasnoyarsk for a rather strange reason. As Sovetsky Sport reports with reference to the Throw-in on Board telegram channel, the hockey player was suspected of stealing sticks from the team locker room. Allegedly, the Magnitogorsk resident was caught in this after watching CCTV cameras. True, representatives of the Krasnoyarsk team do not openly say this. It is possible that Sokol chose to part with the player quietly. Meanwhile, Potekhin had already moved to another VHL team – HC Norilsk.
