Compared to the previous match, there were two changes in the Yaroslavl team – Ivan Chekhovich and Maxim Shalunov were replaced by Daniil Tesanov and Yaroslav Likhachev.

Already in the first minute, the “railwaymen” were left in the minority and were forced to endure an unpleasant period with four players, during which the opponent scored several shots on target and towards the goal. Next, the teams spent a minute and a half in the 4 on 4 format, and during the short period of the Yaroslavl majority, one could note a good attack right away, which was completed by Sergeev, but the defender’s throw from a good position turned out to be not too accentuated. By the middle of the segment, Lokomotiv had a territorial advantage, but there weren’t too many direct attacking opportunities. The next noteworthy episode happened in the 13th minute, when Andronov made a one-timer from the right throw-in circle, but failed to beat the goalkeeper. In one of the next shifts, the puck ended up behind Isaev, but after a coaching request, the goal was canceled due to offside. However, the home team spent the ending more actively, and the Yaroslavl team again had to start the second period with four players. In fact, the only threat to Isaev’s goal was Press’s throw at the very beginning of the rally, after which the puck went near the post. In the third minute, Berezkin had an excellent chance to score, but the best scorer of the “railwaymen” in this playoffs did not beat Nabokov when going 1-0. The home team responded to this with a counterattack, a mid-range shot, so Isaev had to demonstrate his skills. The next event was Gernat’s second removal in the match – Magnitogorsk did not create any dangerous moments, but forced the Yaroslavl team to waste energy on defense, and in the wake of their numerical advantage, they organized a couple more protracted attacks. However, the most dangerous moment was created by the Lokomotiv players, and right after a long period in their own zone: Ivanov, who completed Rafikov’s pass to the goal, slightly missed the target. Next, the “railwaymen” got their first full power play, scored several shots, including from close range, but our team failed to score. The third period started extremely poorly for Lokomotiv – just 21 seconds after the start, the opponent’s quick counterattack resulted in a missed goal, 1:0. After that, the Magnitogorsk team began to counterattack, and in the sixth minute almost scored a second goal, but now Isaev did not allow himself to be outplayed in close combat. Until the 11th minute, despite the advantage in possession of the puck, the “railwaymen” were unable to deliver it to the opponent’s goal and create difficulties for Nabokov. Only at the very end it was possible to storm the Metallurg goal; a second before the siren the puck was scored, but after a long review the goal was canceled due to a hand pass that preceded the moment.

0:1 – Lokomotiv lost with a minimal score in the second game of the final series.

The third match will take place on Yaroslavl ice on April 22.
