Lovchev on Tashuev’s departure: “At Fakel, it’s not about the coaches, but about the players. If such a team leaves the RPL, no one will notice.”
Olympic bronze medalist, USSR champion with Spartak Evgeniy Lovchev told Match TV that in the Voronezh Fakel it’s not the coaches, but the players who do not meet the RPL level.
On Friday, Fakel announced the resignation of Sergei Tashuev from the post of head coach of the team due to family reasons. The Voronezh club ranks 11th in the RPL standings with 26 points after 25 games played.
— At Fakel, it’s not about the coaches, because they change there all the time. It’s about the players, because we have to admit that the Voronezh club is not so well staffed. Let’s take Markov as an example, he’s a well-played option, and I’m by no means saying anything bad about him. Someone goes up the hill, and someone, on the contrary, goes down it.
It seems to me that Tashuev’s departure was influenced by the goal conceded by Krylia in the last minutes. Let’s say now they take one of the two best coaches – Ancelotti or Guardiola. They won’t do anything with these players anyway. If such a “Torch” leaves the RPL, then, frankly speaking, no one will notice, Lovchev told Match TV.
Tashuev headed Fakel in the fall of 2023, and three weeks ago the club announced the extension of the contract with the coach. Previously, Tashuev coached Akhmat Grozny, Krasnodar, Spartak Nalchik, Anzhi Makhachkala, Salyut Belgorod, Shakhtar Soligorsk and other clubs.
