AMD lowers recommended prices for Radeon RX 6000 graphics cards – markdown reaches $300

AMD has announced a reduction in recommended prices for Radeon RX 6000 series graphics cards. This will allow the company to compete more effectively with the NVIDIA GeForce RTX 30-series accelerators, which will continue to be sold, even after the release of new generation green video cards.

The flagship Radeon RX 6950 XT dropped from $1,099 to $949, while its sister model, the Radeon RX 6900 XT, dropped from $999 to $699. At the same time, the latter looks more attractive if you look at the price-performance ratio. It’s only 5% slower than the Radeon RX 6950 XT on average, but it’s a whopping $250 less.

The recommended price of the Radeon RX 6800 XT has dropped to $599, which is $50 less than before. The variant without the XT suffix in the name has fallen in price from $579 to $549. These graphics cards are competitors to the GeForce RTX 3080 and RTX 3070 Ti, which cost more.

The Radeon RX 6750 XT is now $419 instead of $549 and the Radeon RX 6700 XT is $379 instead of $479. Both cards are in the same league as the more expensive GeForce 3060 Ti and GeForce RTX 3070. The Radeon RX 6650 XT drops to $299, the Radeon RX 6600 to $239. The Radeon RX 6500 XT and Radeon RX 6400 entry-level accelerators are now priced at $169 and $149 respectively.

As AMD notes in the slide above, all of its Radeon RX 6000-series graphics cards provide users with the best cost-to-frame rate ratio compared to the competitor, and most of them offer better performance per watt.
