Since launch, users have been reporting server-side errors, connection drops, and difficulties connecting to Overwatch 2. The queues to enter the game reach 50,000 people.

“Unfortunately, we are experiencing a massive DDoS attack on our servers. Teams are working hard to mitigate this effect and correct the situation. Causes a lot of disconnects and connection problems”Ybarra explained.

On the morning of October 5, Overwatch 2 development manager Aaron Keller reported on the team’s progress and noted that the hackers were not limited to one DDoS attack.

“We are steadily making progress in solving server and stability issues, as well as breaking through the second DDoS attack. Everyone is on their feet, and work will continue at night. Thank you for your patience”Keller thanked the players.

In addition to these troubles, Overwatch 2 users are faced with the loss of cosmetic items and currency. Blizzard has also already identified the most common bugs.

Early Access and the first season of Overwatch 2 launched on October 4 on PC (Battle.net), PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X and S, and Nintendo Switch. Despite the imposed restrictions, the game is also available in Russia.
