Developers from Insomniac Games plan to release their version of the Wolverine game in 2025 as an exclusive for PlayStation 5. This was reported by insider DanielRPK, known for his leaks about Marvel shows and films.
According to https://twitter.com/Tech_Reve/status/1726465957340787061, Wolverine’s upcoming game will, unsurprisingly, be much darker and grittier than the studio’s Spider-Man series. The insider also said that the game will feature Madripoor, a fictional Marvel island often associated with X-Men stories (it appeared in the Marvel Cinematic Universe in The Falcon and the Winter Soldier).
The appearance of the island is not surprising – the Princess bar on Madripoor could already be seen in the Insomniac teaser.
DanielRPK’s recent report on Wolverine matches previous speculation from Jeff Grubb. Earlier this year, Grubb said that Insomniac’s Wolverine had two potential release dates. One of them was planned for next year, before Grubb added that 2025 is “still being actively discussed internally at Insomniac.”
Grubb also noted that the upcoming release will focus on Wolverine’s journey before he joins the X-Men, and the gameplay will be violent enough that a mature rating is expected.
