An excellent device, but with nuances.

Straight to the point – there is no new Apple computer cheaper than the Mac mini. In Russia, a device with a fresh M2 chip, 8 GB of RAM and 256 GB of internal memory can be purchased for 51 thousand rubles.

But this home gadget is not for everyone.

At one time, the price for the Minik was amazing, and I almost bought it. The only thing that stopped me was that a computer is often needed on the road. The second caveat is that the device comes with neither a monitor nor a keyboard – only a network cable. That is, you need to either buy accessories or take them from an old PC. Otherwise, this computer should not disappoint. First of all, it’s outrageously cute, stylish, and compact. At the same time, the “mini” has a full-fledged output for a wired Internet connection, two USB-A connectors and a pair of Thunderbolt 4. There is also HDMI and a 3.5 mm headphone jack.

Secondly, the M2 processor gives good performance. In terms of power, the minicomputer is on par with the MacBook Pro 13 M2 and is slightly ahead of the MacBook Air models, which do not have active cooling. We have already talked about 8 GB of RAM – we confirm that this set of memory is enough for most tasks (here are the proofs).

Thirdly, such a Mac gives a certain freedom. Although the RAM and other components cannot be upgraded in the future, you can choose your own monitor, keyboard, and mouse. With a MacBook everything is more complicated – what you buy is what you use.
