The results of this comparison were, to say the least, surprising in many respects. Let me remind you that the comparison included such models as Honor Magic6 Pro, Galaxy S24 Ultra, Pixel 8 Pro, Tecno Camon 30 Premier 5G.

Even though Tecno is not a flagship, I included this device in the comparison to see the difference in image quality, and there is a difference. I understood that the lag would be noticeable, and so it happened, but there was also a surprise. What happened among the flagships can be called amazing. The frame field on the Honor Magic6 Pro is different from the other two models; it is smaller. The frame is framed a little differently, which may have affected the perception of the pictures. But detail and quality of color rendering also played a role – I want to believe in this moment too. Let’s take a look at how you rated the pictures. Go.

Sometimes in comparisons it happens that your choice does not coincide with mine, which is absolutely normal. In some places it seems to me that the picture looks more interesting, in others I see striking differences. But this time my opinion coincided with yours almost 100%. And the first series of pictures is curious because of the unusual results: S24 Ultra is in first place, followed by Honor and then Pixel, and Tecno closes the top four.

From the second series of pictures, Honor’s victorious march begins, in some places the advantage is very noticeable, in others it is smaller and the pictures are comparable. But the Pixel unexpectedly ended up last, while the Ultra was second. Let’s look further.

What’s surprising is that Tecno is in third place, although the scores are close to Pixel, which is in fourth place. The first two are typical according to estimates.

Let’s look at the table, which shows the number of places that each smartphone received in a series of pictures.

It is a rare case when first place does not raise any questions. A total breakthrough, and this is a new generation camera, unlike other flagships. And for Samsung, the interesting question is what exactly the company will put in the 25 series in 2025. You also need to look at new products from Huawei in comparison with Honor.

Pixel unexpectedly performed poorly, formally it is in third place due to second places, but the camera is not very stable in results, and therefore we can say that the new generation of sensor with different add-ons in Tecno produces comparable or even better image quality. Which, considering the price of this device, looks very interesting.

The global conclusion is simple – cameras have grown in their capabilities, they produce an interesting picture, and mid-segment models are no longer completely inferior to flagships, but are approaching them. This trend will continue to evolve, potentially giving more people the opportunity to take technically well-taken photos (though your phone can’t teach you how to take photos).
