Not to mention the weakest console of the current XSS generation, but that won’t matter much. It is expected that Nintendo, as usual, will adapt developers to its hardware.

The editors of Digital Foundry speculated about the future console. The new Nintendo device is expected to use its performance “differently” to achieve better results. Game ports for Nintendo Switch 2 are customized to the device’s specifications, including support for NVIDIA DLSS, which will allow games to be rendered at a lower resolution while maintaining high image quality.

If you compare the situation with the Switch, which ported games that were considered impossible, such as The Witcher 3, then we can expect that there will be similar cases on the Nintendo Switch 2.

Moreover, while the overall performance of the console may be comparable to previous generation systems, its performance can be used in different ways to achieve the same, if not better, results than the Steam Deck. Theoretically, it should be weaker.

But Nintendo should have an advantage over the Steam Deck in terms of battery life.
