Cultures grown from neurons from real patients using stem cells were treated with drugs to study their pharmacodynamics in microgravity conditions. The samples will be packed into cryovials and sent to Earth on the next flight (April 26) for examination by doctors.

The main goal of these experiments is to develop effective therapies for the treatment of neurodegenerative disorders such as Alzheimer’s or Parkinson’s disease. Additionally, scientists hope to work on preventing the consequences of long-term space flights.

Meanwhile, Roscosmos cosmonauts Oleg Kononenko and Nikolai Chub were preparing for this year’s first spacewalk, scheduled for Thursday, by trying on Orlan spacesuits.

Every working day on the ISS is filled with scientific work, so all expedition participants, except for space tourists, are well versed in various fields of knowledge. According to cosmonaut Irina Pronina, stupid people are not accepted there.
