A new Fallout has been created – unofficially and in Excel

The Fallout franchise attracts players from all over the world. Among them are talented enthusiasts who want to make their game in the spirit of the original.

It turns out that you can develop an entire Fallout-inspired game inside Excel, a spreadsheet application.

Dynamic Pear presented an unusual project – he wanted to make games, but he never had the skills or time. But he often worked with Excel and an idea came into his head: to make a Fallout-style role-playing game in Excel.

War never changes—everything remains the same in the Excel project. The events of this Fallout-like game take place in a post-apocalyptic world that has survived a nuclear war: the hero wanders in new conditions. As in the “full-fledged” games of the Fallout series, there is a quest system and a kind of combat.

The player is engaged in quests. The MAP Key column provides a decoding of the color scheme of the map, for example, cities and shelters are highlighted here in purple, and mountains are highlighted in the color of sunset in the steppe.

The combat system looks like this. The developer notes that he has provided the ability to disable battles.
