Users complain that they began to encounter regular crashes, problems with saves and other difficulties

On April 25, Bethesda released a 14 GB update for Fallout 4, which, according to numerous user posts on Steam, broke “generally everything” on PC. Problems include constant crashes to the desktop, errors with loading saves created in a modified version of the game, a stretched interface, and many others. Some users are already asking if there is any way to roll back the changes.

PC Gamer journalists also complained about problems with frequent crashes that arose after the update, which manifested themselves on RTX graphics accelerators and the “Shrapnel from shots” settings. It is reported that Bethesda has been receiving complaints about this bug for five years, but still has not fixed it.

PC Gamer also complained about the lack of any noticeable improvements in the visual component and loading speeds that did not change at all. At the same time, the publication’s journalists do not seem to be aware that only the versions for PS5 and Xbox Series X|S received updated graphics, when only a patch was released on PC, which was not supposed to improve the graphics.
