Remedy Entertainment announced a reorganization in which COO Christopher Schmitz will leave his position. In an official statement, the company explained that it no longer needs a chief operating officer.. She will distribute Schmitz’s responsibilities among other top managers.

Mikael Kasurinen was appointed creative director. He was a game designer Quantum Break And Controland now heads the development Control 2. In his new role, Kasurinen joins the company’s leadership and will serve as one of the creative leaders of Remedy Entertainment along with Sami Jarvi. The latter was creative director Alan Wake 2.

In a press release, Remedy noted that the key goal of the reshuffle is turn Alan Wake and Control into major franchises.

Previously, CEO Tero Virtala has repeatedly mentioned that the company wants to turn Alan Wake and Control into franchises with high recognition. Future additions for Alan Wake 2, which will be released this year, and new Control projects – a sequel and a cooperative action game – should help with this. All of them are part of the Remedy United Universe.
