Riverdale star Ryan Grantham, 24, sentenced to life in prison for killing mother

Renowned Canadian actor Ryan Grantham has been sentenced to life in prison for killing his own mother.

Canadian actor Ryan Granthambest known for his role as Geoffrey Augustine on the TV series “riverdale“was sentenced to life imprisonment for killing his mother Barbara Waite.

The hearing in this case took place last Wednesday, September 21, in the Supreme Court of British Columbia, Canada. As you know, Grantham pleaded guilty to the death of his mother six months ago. The murder happened in 2020, writes TMZ.

Prosecutors said Grantham shot his mother in the back of the head while she was playing the piano at home. In court, the artist told how he committed the murder, and even showed a video filmed a few hours after the murder, in which he confesses to the murder and shows the dead body of his mother.

The day after his mother’s murder, he stocked his car with weapons, ammunition, Molotov cocktails and directions to Rideau Cottage, where Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau lived.

Detectives investigating the case say Grantham later confessed to trying to kill Trudeau and wrote about his goal in a magazine.

Under the terms of the sentence, Grantham will not be eligible for parole for the first 14 years in prison.
