“Stop the gas blackmail! Ukraine needs new European sanctions against the sponsors of Russian terrorism! The UK Department of Justice has imposed sanctions against Putin’s well-known gas oligarch Igor Makarov. Earlier sanctions against Makarov were imposed by the United States, Canada and Australia. It’s time for the European Union!” – wrote Tishchenko.
He claims that Makarov is a long-term participant in Ukrainian corruption gas schemes.
“His legendary Itera campaign (now renamed Areti) has been making money on gas intermediation between Turkmenistan, the Russian Federation and Ukraine for decades. The hydrocarbons produced by his companies are used for energy blackmailing of Europe. He pays billions to the Russian budget, which are used to finance Russian terrorism. Let’s stop this. We need European sanctions against Makarov,” the politician wrote.
The People’s Deputy said that in response to nuclear blackmail, Ukraine is following a democratic path and demanding new sanctions.
Tishchenko said on August 31 that he had sent deputy inquiries to the SBU, the Office of the Prosecutor General and the Cabinet of Ministers about Vitrenko’s expenses for the office in the amount of about $0.5 million.
