Larry was part of “Moe’s Bros” and rarely spoke on camera.

The animated series “The Simpsons” has been on FOX for 35 years and will definitely continue to do so. 20th Television Animation studio has signed a contract until the end of the 2024/25 television season and will release the 36th pool of fresh episodes about the adventures of the Homer, Marge, Bart and Lisa Simpson family.

The animated sitcom naturally changes over the years and raises topics about new ethics. Of course, familiar characters gradually disappear in it. For some reason, the authors kill off characters from the debut seasons for the sake of new storylines, although they can easily not do this – time in the Simpsons universe has stood still and repeats itself over and over again (take, for example, Bart’s pre-adult children, Lisa and Maggie).

In episode 765 of Cremains of the Day, the franchise lost one of Homer’s friends. Simpson, Lenny and Carl went to Moe’s Tavern to watch a baseball game. Their favorite team lost, Moe kicked everyone out the door and noticed that regular customer Larry was sitting at the counter and not moving. The bartender poked the drunkard in the eye with a mop and realized that he had died. Then the entire plot of the episode revolves around his funeral.

Larry (aka Larry the Barfly – Larry the Barfly) was an episodic character in The Simpsons, but appeared in the third episode of the very first season in 1989. Since then, he rarely spoke on camera, but considered Homer, Lenny, Carl and Moe his best friends. A tall man with a receding hairline was part of the group and was a regular at a Springfield tavern and called their group Moe’s Bros.

In total, Larry uttered two phrases on camera during the entire period of the release of The Simpsons. In Season 2, he whistled when Marge appeared, “Who’s that chick? Woo-hoo!”, and in the eighth he said “Colleague” to Homer. The episode Cremains of the Day turned out to be the main role for the hero. Larry the Barfly will probably never appear at Moe’s legendary Tavern again.

The Simpsons will keep the legendary gag. Why does Homer continue to strangle Bart?
