Russian President Vladimir Putin and Crown Prince of Saudi Arabia Mohammed bin Salman Al Saud held a telephone conversation, during which he expressed satisfaction with the transfer of mercenaries through the mediation of the prince.

“Satisfaction was expressed in connection with the transfer to the Saudi side of prisoners of war of foreign citizens who illegally participated in hostilities in the Donbass, which took place with the personal mediation of the crown prince,” the Russian president is quoted on the Kremlin website.

They also discussed cooperation in the Shanghai Cooperation Organization and coordination of actions to ensure stability in the oil market.

On September 21, through the mediation of the prince of Saudi Arabia, ten foreigners were released, whom the Russian army had taken prisoner in Ukraine. Among those released were five British citizens, a Moroccan, a Swede, a Croat and two Americans. Earlier, some of them were sentenced to death in the Donetsk People’s Republic.
