The United Petroleum and Gas Chemical Company (ONGC) and Xuan Yuan Industrial Development plan to build the Soyuz oil and gas transshipment complex near the new Nizhneleninskoye-Tongjiang railway bridge. It was launched less than a year ago. The transition makes it possible to shorten the route to the northern provinces of China, and its capacity is 20 million tons.

“As part of the VIII Eastern Economic Forum in Vladivostok, an agreement was signed on joint financing of the construction of the Soyuz cross-border transshipment complex in the amount of 5 billion yuan ($ 700 million – editor’s note), which will be raised through lending from Russian-Chinese financial institutions “, — said Alexander Zakharov, General Director of United Petroleum and Gas Chemical Company LLC, Roscongress reports.

According to him, a cross-border transshipment complex will be built near the new Nizhneleninskoye-Tongjiang railway bridge crossing. ONGK will build an oil terminal with a capacity of up to 5.8 million tons per year, an oil depot with a capacity of 1 million tons, and a gas filling complex with a capacity of up to 0.65 million tons.

“The construction of the complex on the territory of Russia will ensure parity in the volume of transshipment of export-import cargo between Russia and China at the Nizhneleninskoye-Tongjiang border crossing, as well as guarantee the end consignees in China uninterrupted and reliable supply of the entire range of cargo under long-term contracts,” noted Roscongress. .

According to Interfax, ONGK is controlled by the Metropol Group of Companies owned by Mikhail Slipenchuk and was created in August 2021.

Last December, the EU banned the import of Russian oil, and from February 5 – petroleum products. China became one of the main consumers to whom the lost volumes went.
