Russians should monitor the prices of goods before the international Black Friday campaign. At the start of a sale, stores may artificially increase prices on goods to create the appearance of a deep discount. Olga Matveeva, a financial consultant for the Package service from X5, spoke about this.
“Some sellers deliberately inflate the prices of goods before a sale in order to hide the real price of the item and create the illusion of a big discount. It’s easy to find out if a store is deceiving you – prepare in advance and study the prices for the items you are interested in,” Olga Matveeva explained in a conversation with “Gazeta.ru».
The expert noted that prices often rise for cheap goods in order to then sell them “at a big discount.” For marketplaces and other companies, the main goal of such promotions is to sell obsolete goods in order to free up warehouses. Matveeva also advised not to rush into purchasing those goods that the buyer doubts the need for. In addition, you should be wary of unknown sellers.
Russians often buy fermented milk products, sausages, and cat food on Black Friday. Also popular products include vegetables, chocolate, cheese, and frozen semi-finished products.
